Adult Sunday School Classes

All Adult Sunday School Classes meet every Sunday at 10:00 AM.

Central Cafe

Christian Fellowship Class

Location: 2nd Floor | Contact: Merritt White

Focuses on an in-depth study of scripture in religious, historical, geo-political, and practical context.

Location: 2nd Floor, Education Wing | Contact: Margaret Dabbs

Mission-minded class with rotating teaching by members and invited speakers. The class is very active in the community and a variety of church leadership roles. The class has a card ministry and is made up of a variety of ages; singles and couples are all welcome.

Location: 2nd Floor, Education Wing | Contact: Rotating Leadership

Women's class. Uses Cokesbury curriculum. Close knit, caring small group.

Location: 1st Floor, Langford Parlor | Contact: Fran Ussery

Primarily uses the United Methodist Church "Adult Bible Studies" series.

Location: Basement, Kelly's Kafe | Contact: Savannah Glover

Primarily young adults, both couples and singles, though all are welcome.

Location: 2nd Floor | Contact: Mitchell Hagler

Men's Bible Study class that uses the "Adult Bible Studies" series in its weekly lessons. Though the class is small, there is a bond of friendship and care for each member. Additionally, the class sends bereavement and "Caring About You" cards.

Living Values Class

New Beginning's Class

Location: Online, Zoom | Contact: Cris Davis

Book discussions; open-minded and open-hearted.

Location: 2nd Floor | Contact: Perry and Miriam Saunders

This class is an exploration of the Bible and history of Christianity. We hold weekly discussions about discipleship and what it means to be a Christian. This class is mostly made up of middle-aged couples and singles, though all are welcome.

Youth And Children Activities

Youth and Children Activities run every Sunday morning at various times.

Nursery

Location: 1st Floor, Office Wing | Time: Sundays, 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM | Contact: Liz Boldman Birth -- 4 Years Old. Staffed professionally with warm and friendly caregivers. Contact information is required so that you may be reached in case of an emergency.

Bibleville

Location: 2nd Floor, Above Church Office | Time: Sundays, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM | Contact: Liz Boldman

K -- 5th Grade. In Bibleville, we use Orange 252 Kids Curriculum to teach our kids to make wise choices, build strong relationships, and develop a deeper faith. Engaging materials, short videos, crafts, and games fill our hour together. Our goal is to share the word of God with your children while helping them feel at home in church.

Acolytes

8 Years Old And Up. Children are scheduled on a rotating basis to help lead our worship.

Chimers

Young Ringers Handbell Choir

Youth Group

2nd Grade And Up. Our Young Ringers meet for several weeks consecutively prior to performing in worship.

Location: Basement, Youth Room | Time: Sundays, 6:00 PM during the school year. | Contact: Liz Boldman

6th Grade And Up. Youth meet, led on rotation by parents based on Orange Curriculum. Food is provided.

United Women in Faith Circle Groups

We have many opportunities for involvement in UWF Circles.

Estaline Clark Circle

Location: Living Values Classroom | Time: 1st Tuesday of the month, 11:00 AM | Contact: Carol Anderson

Meets to fulfill their purpose through supporting one another, women and children, and the global ministries of the church. Each month a reading program book is featured promoting continuing education.

Houston Tuttle Circle

Location: Member's homes on rotation | Time: 1st Tuesday of the month, 10:00 AM | Contact: Margaret Cox

Meets regularly to educate ourselves about the work of the missions we support globally and locally; support one another in spiritual growth; nurture fellowship among our members; support each other, and all women, as members of the Body of Christ, through advocacy for justice and equality.

Coltrane Jones Circle

Jubilee Ward Circle

Location: 1st Floor, Langford Parlor | Time: 1st Tuesday of the month, 10:00 AM | Contact: Linda Sparks

Location: Basement, Youth Room | Time: 2nd Sunday of the month | Contact: Melissa McGuire

The Jubilee Ward Circle meets for breakfast, fellowship, and a program or speaker. JWC is very mission-minded in its programs and activities. Fundraisers such as selling luminaries at Christmas and holding bake sales generate money for missions.

United Methodist Men

Each month, the UMM of the church meet for breakfast, fellowship, and a program or speaker.

Healing Shawl Ministry

Location: Reta Steck Memorial Garden | Time: Varies | Contact: Vicki Isenhour

Members make prayer shawls for members experiencing difficulty in their lives, scarves for Elder Orphan Care, and children's blankets for the Child Advocacy program at the local hospital.
