We offer a wide variety of music at Central United Methodist Church. Donna Hill is our Chancel Choir Director, and Susan Renz is our Music Minister and Organist. Often the Chancel Choir is joined by talented musicians from the Charlotte area.
Adult Chancel Choir
The members of the choirs at Central love one another, love God, and love making music with each other. We believe that music is a way of seeking God, a way of finding God and a way of sharing God’s love with others. We discover with one another how music can unite us, heal us, challenges us, and teaches us. Thanks be to God for music and Thanks be to God for Central where music is appreciated and nurtured.
The Chancel Choir is a non-auditioned group that welcomes anyone who wants to come and make music with us. The choir is led by Donna Hill (email@example.com) and accompanied by Susan Renz (firstname.lastname@example.org)
They rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 PM in the Choir Room downstairs. Practice begins in late August for the fall.
Wesley Ringers Handbell Choir
The Wesley Ringers, directed by Susan Renz (email@example.com), are a three plus octave Handbell Choir that plays in worship several times throughout the year, along with attending a local annual handbell festival. The bells rehearse on Tuesdays from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary, September through June. Basic music reading skills are helpful. New members are always welcome, ages high school and older.
Young Chimers Handbell Choir
Young Chimers, directed by Susan Renz (firstname.lastname@example.org) and other volunteers is a Handbell Choir for children 2nd Grade and up. They meet consecutively throughout the school year to prepare fun songs to perform in worship on Sunday from time to time. Reach out to Susan if you would like your child to participate! All children 2nd Grade and up are welcome.
Other Music At Central
Central loves to invite musicians from the local community to come play during one or both of our morning worship services! We are so thankful for all of the musicians who dedicate their time to playing for us.
From cellists to brass players to opera singers and steel drums, Central enjoys bringing in a wide variety of music, both instrumentally and stylistically, into worship.
