The 4th Annual Women’s Retreat Held in Hickory

Central held it’s annual Women’s Retreat at the Catholic Conference Center in Hickory, North Carolina on October 23rd-25th. The leaves were changing, the weather was beautiful and the time together was welcome. With all that has happened to our congregation, our women and our world in the last year the planning committee chose a topic of simplicity. And to make something simple more fun the theme became K.I.S.S - Keep It Simple Sister! The Reverend Patty Suggs came up with great subject matter. And like the Feast for the Spirit, Patty caught the H1N1 virus and was unable to join the group.

One of the planning members reminded the group that God is the leader and with his help this could be done successfully. Using Patty’s notes the program was divided and a workshop type weekend evolved.

Donna Hill, Quin Dionne and Grace Mynatt provided fun and inspirational music. Friday night was a pajama dance party. (Who knew Central had such good dancers?) They knitted, practiced yoga and walked. The group ate a lot and simply enjoyed each other’s company. They missed some that had been there in the past and embraced newcomers.

If you have never been before, mark your calendars for the end of October, Central will host another Women’s Retreat.
