By the first week in September, Central will have made two major additions to our church facilities: the Church Street Entrance and expanded Choir Loft. Ken Griffin designed both projects, and C.M. Black Construction led the work. For the first time in a generation, both of these major capital projects were paid for by current church members through our capital fund campaign. The Church Street Entrance involved re-grading our back lot, placing new signs, a new sidewalk, relaying storm drains, adding new brick walls and metal fencing, incorporating a brick walkway, paving the new parking area, and landscaping with irrigation. The City of Concord will soon be laying additional sidewalks near our entrance and moving cable wiring. The new area is safer, more attractive, and more inviting. The expanded Choir Loft added a new pew and riser, allowing the choir to seat an additional eight members. Our adult chancel choir now has 34 members, our new area can accommodate all of them, while preserving the beauty of our sanctuary! |
